Why does the catalogue start from -3 in the HGR-series instead of -1?

Why does the catalogue start from -3 in the HGR-series instead of -1?

Reason for this, is that dash length 1 and 2 range from 0.5mm to 2.05mm.

For very thin panels we would rather check any request individually with engineering since there are cases where the full features of the HGR-series studs will not be reached or at least not in all the possible combinantions.

This is due to the many combinations of all the grommets, receptacles, studs and tolerances within the customers panels.

For example, the regular spring force might be too strong and cause deformation of the panels if a customer wants to combine two 0.25mm thick panels.

In regards to these cases, an extra short spring cup or a weaker spring solution might be better and possible. However, this would be a project out of the standard range.

For these reasons we decided to start with stud length number 3 for the regular catalogue parts. Please contact engineering for very thin panels in the HGR-series.
