What is a Turnlock fastener?

A Turnlock fastener, also known as a quick-action panel fastener or quarter turns, is a fastening device used to join two panels or components together. The Turnlock fastener consists typically three parts—a stud , retainer washer and a receptacle. The stud has a  different head styles shape. The two are pressed together and then rotated to create a tight, secure connection.

Turnlock fasteners
Turnlock fasteners are often used in industrial and commercial applications, such as aircraft and automotive manufacturing, as well as in the marine and electrical industries. They are also used in the construction of equipment, furniture, and other products. The fastener is particularly known for its strength and durability, and its ability to be installed and removed quickly and easily.

Turnlock fasteners have several advantages over other fastening systems. They are easy to install. They are also resistant to vibration, shock, and tensile forces, making them an ideal solution for many applications.

Turnlock fasteners come in a variety of materials and finishes, including zinc-plated steel, stainless steel, aluminum and plastic. They are also available in a range of sizes and configurations. The most common type is the medium duty fastener, which is available in a variety of head shapes, such as hex, wing, etc.

When using a Turnlock fastener, it is important to ensure that the two components are properly aligned. It is also important to use the correct size of fastener for the application, as using an incorrect size could result in the fastener not fitting properly, or not being able to hold the two components together securely.
